be a (gentle) blade of grass at the foot of the mountain; and jasmine flower at home
Be (strong) like a rock when fate pours (torrential) rains of difficulties on you
Be sweet like sugar and jaggery to the poor and weak
Be one with all, Mankuthimma.
This is a great philosophical wotk in the form of poetry, one of the finest works of DVG aka D.V. Gundappa, a renowned scholar and poet in Kannada., a man who richly deserved to be a Gyanpeeth awardee. I was fortunate to be near him in the sixties as a member of Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, an institution started by him which is doing yeomen service in the foeld of spreading knowledge and awareness. --Shiv--
